It is our great pleasure to announce that the paper entitled “A Design Theory for Energy and Carbon Management Systems in the Supply Chain”, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, 23(1), 329-371 by Eleni Zampou, Ioannis Mourtos, Katerina Pramatari and Stefan Seidel was awarded the “Best Journal Paper in Green IS for 2022” Award from the AIS SIGGreen – Special Interest Group in Green IS.
The research paper defines the scope of Energy and Carbon Management Systems in the supply chain context and develops information systems design theory, including key constructs and design principles. It also indicates that the design theory, if instantiated, supports energy and carbon measurement and environmentally aware decision-making and practice in supply chains.
The Best Journal Paper in Green Information Systems award for 2022 from AIS SIG Green recognizes one outstanding journal paper on topics related to the role of information systems to matters regarding environmental sustainability. The paper’s findings must build on sound and robust research practices and should contain clear implications for how IS solutions could contribute to dealing with climate change and related environmental challenges. The paper must also be published in an academic journal and undergo rigorous peer-review. The award committee selected the paper from among a select group for its broad focus on the supply chain and its practical implications on design theory.
